Relief is an original acrylic painting measuring (20×24 inches), depicting a female angel in a quiet, human moment as she exhales a trail of cigarette smoke. The image intentionally blends softness with edge, offering a figure that feels both celestial and grounded.
Created over more than 40 hours, this piece emerged through slow, layered acrylic techniques and careful blending. The process was unhurried, allowing the work to unfold naturally and hold space for pause, release, and presence.
This painting lives within my Era of Becoming, a practice of slowing down and honoring complexity without the need for resolution. The angel is not presented as perfect or distant, but as familiar and human, inviting viewers to bring their own meaning, emotion, and experience into the work.

The Becoming Song Club is a monthly snail mail art club that documents my art journey as it unfolds. Each month, members receive a physical art print paired with a song that inspired the work and a short written reflection on why that song mattered.
This club is rooted in growth, seasons, and becoming. The art is created in real time, reflecting where I am emotionally and creatively during that month. The music serves as a companion, offering sound to the moment and helping tell the story behind the work.
Together, the art and music create a visual soundtrack. A small, tangible reminder that our lives move in rhythms, that growth is not linear, and that becoming is something worth witnessing slowly.

Firebird is a reflection of rebirth.
The woman stands crowned in bronze, holding a single candle whose small flame glows against the inferno of her hair. Her flames are lush and expansive, alive with movement, surrounding her not as destruction, but as transformation. Fire becomes adornment. Power becomes presence.
This piece symbolizes rising from the ashes. The quiet moment after burning. The choice to continue.
Firebird marks a personal threshold for me, entering my thirties as a new woman, shaped by what she has survived and strengthened by what she has endured. She is resilient, a fighter, and still gentle enough to protect a fragile flame. The candle she carries is intention. It is hope. It is the self she refuses to let go out, even while standing fully in her fire.
This painting belongs to the season of becoming. Of shedding old skins. Of honoring what was burned away and what remains.
